Fast wie Freunde

At Kulturpalast Hamburg I gave a wonderful Storytelling Workshop with 10 year olds and we had a blast creating crazy adventures together!

What an honor! My old high school booked me for a lovely workshop with fifty 5th graders to illustrate their self written short stories. Wow, did we have fun creating together!

50 illustrators from Germany and Colombia are currently part of the exhibition "Heimat" at Casa Tinta in Bogotá. This black and white artwork of mine is part of this beautiful cultural exchange initiative!

It didn't make the short list of the Award but my work got selected for the exhibition at "Fabrik der Künste" in Hamburg. 

My new book "Turmbau geht schief!" came out January 20th and immediately got selected for the short list of the German-French Award for Youth Literature! What an honor!

"Turmbau geht schief!" is an adaption to the biblical story Tower Of Babel in black and white.

The online magazine Börsenblatt started a new clip series about book Illustrators, their work and work space. I had the honor to be the first one to be interviewed!

What does a job as an illustrator look like? 

My friends and I gave a 2 day workshop in our atelier to high school students that were thinking to study art/illustration after graduation. This picture doesn't show it very well but we had SO much fun together. Their passion and motivation was contagious!

This years guest of honor at Frankfurter Book Fair was Georgia. So some illustrators from Germany and some from Georgia were invited by the German Academy for Children's Literature to meet for a few days and exchange about culture, illustration and children's books. Very lucky me was part of it!  

Since I was last years Serafina Award winner I got invited to speak with this years nominees at Frankfurts Book Fair. We discussed our work, art, the current and the future book market and all sorts of funny book nerd stuff! Thanks for having me!

The International Children's Book Fair of Saarbrücken invited me to exhibit my work and do readings of my book "Fast wie Freunde".

I illustrated the story of Clemens Fobian and together we created this wonderful book.
